A note for my articles this season: I write on Friday or Saturday, and my articles come out on Mondays. That means an entire extra game will have been played between when I submit my article and you are reading it, at least when we play on Sundays. This in turn means that I will seldom be writing about the game that just happened.

Joe Burrow finally got his long-term extension last week. There was a lot of talk leading up to it about how Burrow wanted to make sure Cincinnati would be able to build a team around him and his contract. That didn’t exactly happen. It’s a 5 year, $55 million extension off of his current two-year contract (this year and his 5th-year option next year).

Back in March of this year, I got a request on Twitter to do a chart of Average Per Year (APY) vs. EPA once all the QB contracts rolled in this year. I thought this was a spectacular idea at the time, and so I’ve been waiting for literally six months to write this article. I thought after Justin Herbert signed his $52.5m contract that Burrow would happen very quickly after that. It unfortunately took quite a bit of time. It’s here now, though, and so here we go.
