Before the KCSN draft team left to attend the East-West Shrine Bowl in Dallas this January, I admittedly hadn’t gotten much time to dive into the players that were going to be attending the game. Prioritizing those positions that the Kansas City Chiefs could look at in the group, I found a bit of a diamond in the rough in Penn State interior offensive lineman Hunter Nourzad. I liked a lot of his game, and as I dove into more of his collegiate career — and got to speak to him in person — I found a player that I thought fit perfectly in Andy Reid and Andy Heck’s offensive scheme.

Sure enough, Nourzad found his name called with the 24th pick in the 5th round by the Chiefs. A former offensive tackle at Cornell that transferred to Penn State — and moved inside — Nourzad was able to make the transition to the Big 10 rapidly. Today, we’ll take a look at Nourzad’s tape from 2023 to see the ways he fits into the Chiefs offense and how he might be able to help in the future.
