The Kansas City Chiefs in the Andy Reid/Patrick Mahomes era are like a broken record that just keeps skipping and repeating itself.

Every year it’s the same story. Chiefs win the AFC West over the preseason darling Chargers. Chiefs host the AFC Championship Game. Mahomes leads the league in passing yards and touchdowns.

Every year, multiple times a year, it’s a new team that’s “maybe better than the Chiefs” or “Is he better than Mahomes”. The teams and players change names, but the Chiefs part of those comparisons stays the same. The common denominator in “Is Josh Allen/Lamar Jackson/Joe Burrow/Justin Herbert/Tua Tagovailoa/Trevor Lawrence/Jalen Hurts better than Mahomes?” is Mahomes.
