When the Chiefs selected Chamarri Conner in the 4th round of the 2023 NFL Draft, many had questions about why he was taken earlier than most analysts projected. The 5th year senior out of Virginia Tech had some versatility on the back end - and some explosive athleticism to boot - but wasn't the type of coverage player that most thought would be selected that high, let alone in a trade-up from the Kansas City Chiefs.

After two preseason games featuring Conner in a Chiefs uniform, it's pretty clear that the Chiefs have grand designs on Conner's usage in Steve Spagnuolo's defense - and might be just what is needed during L'Jarius Sneed's absence.

Today, we'll be diving into the Chiefs/Cardinals preseason game to look at Conner's usage, some advanced stats, and break down some of his film to see what this rookie could bring to the table for the 2023 Chiefs - and beyond.
