“Nobody wants to play the Bengals in the playoffs”, said the Bengals, as they missed the playoffs for the third time in the five years since drafting Joe Burrow first overall in 2020. The season clearly did not go the way they wanted, as they entered week 14 with a 4-8 record. They won their last 5 games, ending the season at 9-8.

All they needed to make the playoffs was for the Chiefs to win against the Broncos in week 18. Sadly for the city of Cincinnati, the Chiefs—in one of my favorite ever games, and certainly my favorite loss—sat all of their starters and got absolutely shellacked by their division rivals, who were also playing for a playoff berth. The Bengals’ season ended that day as they helplessly cheered on their hated foe to no avail.
