The Kansas City Chiefs (2-1) took care of business on Sunday afternoon by beating the Chicago Bears (0-3) by a score of 41-10 behind another dominant performance by the defense.

It wasn’t until late in the game when starters had already been pulled did the Bears find the end zone - ending a streak spanning more than seven quarters since the Chiefs’ defense had allowed a touchdown.

Offensively - Patrick Mahomes became the fastest player in NFL history to 25,000 yards passing in what was ultimately a pretty stress-free game - outside of the ankle-injury-scare that Mahomes had late in the first half. After the game, Mahomes said he was fine.

But here’s what stood out to KCSN’s Craig Stout:

31 - First downs gained by the Chiefs offense

For the first two weeks of the 2023 season, the Kansas City Chiefs struggled to move the ball and put points on the board. It wasn't time to hit the "panic button", but their atypical performances raised some eyebrows.

With the Bears coming to town, the hope was that the Chiefs offense would have a "get-right" game and help kick things into high gear. Boy, did they ever put on a performance against the Chicago Bears defense.

The Chiefs offense got back in sync to the tune of 41 points on 6.1 yards per play. Everything was working (10-14 on third down, 5-5 in the red zone), but it was the drive efficiency that was most impressive on the day.
