Chiefs must address this area on offense to get back on track
Kansas City finds itself ranked 26th in the NFL with this statistic
Once is a fluke, twice or more is a habit, the saying goes.
The Chiefs find themselves in the latter area with an offensive statistic through two games, but not in a good way.
Kansas City went 4-of-12 on third-down situations (33.3%) in Week 2’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles after going 5-of-14 on third downs (35.7%) in Week 1’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Chiefs enter Week 3 ranked 26th in the league in third-down efficiency, converting at a 34.6% clip, which is down from the 2024 season when the team finished second in the league (48.5%).
Addressing third-down woes carries a sense of urgency, especially when considering the slow starts over the past two games.
The solution, however, could be as simple as paying attention to detail.
