Chiefs' Omarr Norman-Lott suffers torn ACL, source confirms
Chiefs now without their 2025 second-round pick the rest of the season
The Chiefs received bad news from Sunday’s 31-0 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Rookie defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott suffered a season-ending torn ACL, a source familiar with the situation confirmed Monday afternoon with KC Sports Network.
The NFL Network first reported the news.
Norman-Lott suffered the knee injury late in the third quarter during Sunday’s game.
He went to the ground before taking off his helmet and throwing it. Norman-Lott then quickly received immediate attention from the Chiefs’ medical staff.
After getting checked on, teammates, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes, helped Norman-Lott get to the sideline, where he was taken to the locker room.
The 6-foot-3, 315-pound Norman-Lott joined the Chiefs during the offseason as a second-round pick in the NFL draft.
His development was stalled, though, after he suffered an ankle sprain early in training camp and the injury prevented him from playing in the season opener.
The rookie defender finishes the 2025 season appearing in five games with one start, totaling five tackles, a sack and a quarterback hit.
Norman-Lott’s ACL injury leaves a hole within the interior of the Chiefs’ defensive line on the current 53-player roster.
The Chiefs have relied on veterans Chris Jones and Derrick Nnadi as the starters in the team’s 4-3 base defense, with Norman-Lott and Jerry Tillery providing depth.
Defensive tackles Marlon Tuipuloutu, Zacch Pickens and Brodric Martin are on the practice squad.
