The Kansas City Chiefs (6-2) scored 11 unanswered points in the fourth quarter and overtime to beat the Tennessee Titans (5-3) by a score of 20-17 at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday night.

Patrick Mahomes threw for more than 450 yards on 68 passing attempts, while the Chiefs’ defense overcame a rough start to shut things down in the second half and overtime.

The Titans last six offensive drives combined to net a LOSS of eight yards on 21 total plays as the Chiefs’ defense put it away down the stretch.

That performance gave the offense enough opportunities to come through for a tough victory, which should could payoff big time down the road considering the AFC East surprise on Sunday that saw the New York Jets (6-3) take down the Buffalo Bills (6-2).

Here’s what else stood out on Sunday:

The Chiefs aren’t new to slogging through some low scoring affairs. Just last year, the Chiefs struggled to score more than 20 points three times in the month of November. Those games were on the heels of a 27-3 drubbing at the hands of the Tennessee Titans in the last game of October.

The Chiefs have had their struggles against the Titans. This was the first win for quarterback Patrick Mahomes against Tennessee in the regular season. They needed him to drag his team to a victory to finally achieve that.
