Defensive tackle Zacch Pickens said he had options after the Chicago Bears waived him in late August.
Not surprising when considering the 6-foot-4, 303-pound Pickens entered the NFL out of South Carolina as a third-round pick (64th overall) in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Pickens’ decision to sign with the Chiefs practice squad shortly after he cleared waivers, however, provided a no-brainer moment for him.
“Really, just felt like an opportunity here that I could learn from a Hall of Famer (Chris Jones), take what he has and just apply it to my game,” Pickens told KC Sports Network. “It just gave me the confidence to come here.”
