Chiefs praise Tyreek Hill ahead of Week 9 | KCSN Daily 11.1
Plus latest Chiefs news, KCSN podcasts, Substack articles and more.
Asked whether there was anything different about former Kansas City Chief WR Tyreek Hill now that he’s with the Miami Dolphins, Andy Reid let out a chuckle and said, “He’s pretty good.”
When he was with the Chiefs, the game plan for opposing defenses wasn’t about shutting him down, it was about slowing him down. Now, the Chiefs really face the same conundrum.
“He’s a great player, that’s the bottom line,” Reid told reporters. “You might slow him down, but he is going to make plays somewhere. That’s what makes him the player he is. He’s got speed, quickness, and he’s smart.”
One player on the Chiefs’ defense knows just how quick, fast, and smart Hill is. Drue Tranquill faced him many times, but one play stood out more than others. His teammate had forced a fumble on a Dolphins player and as Tranquill dove for the loose football, it squirted right out at Hill’s feet. No. 10 took the ball 65 yards for the touchdown.
"He's really fast, really good after the catch, you have to take good angles,” Tranquill said. “He's a great competitor. At any given moment (he can make a play)."
The defense knows that Hill is going to have his moments during the course of this game. Playing smart football and limiting the damage is going to be key.
Chiefs wide receivers are lacking this very IMPORTANT trait!
Skyy Moore speaks:
Andy Reid has been offering up some no-call penalty excuses for Skyy Moore on his dropped touchdown in Week 8. Moore told reporters on Wednesday, that he’s not accepting any excuses and said he’s got to catch that ball either way. Moving forward, he aims to take better advantage of those moments.
“Yeah, just do a better job of finishing the opportunities that I get,” Moore said. “When they come, just make the play.”
As for what he expects from the offense in Germany, he thinks this loss to Denver was the wake-up call that everyone needed.
“I would expect us to come out firing on all cylinders,” Moore explained. “I feel like every position group knows what they have to do, and we’re going to hone on into the details and get the job done.”
