The Chiefs are prepping for their first training camp practice open to the public beginning on Sunday, July 23. Speaking to media members on Friday afternoon, team president Mark Donovan emphasized how important training camp is for the fanbase to get a chance to see the players and team up close and personal. That experience has changed over the years, most notably with the team’s move to a ticketing system.
“We’ve gone to a ticketing system, so to come to camp you need to go online at chiefs.com/trainingcamp, get the information there and sign up for a ticket,” Donovan explained. “To give you some perspective, we have not had a practice yet open to the public and we already have 80,000 tickets (claimed) for training camp.”
If you plan to attend training camp, make sure you reserve your tickets soon. The special season ticket member days have already sold out according to Donovan.
An important reminder for those set to attend practices — if there is thunderstorm activity in the area, the Chiefs will move practice to the indoor facility at Missouri Western State University. Practices will go on, but will be closed to the public when this occurs.
Don’t miss the “Red Rally” celebration in St. Joseph, Missouri at Civic Center Park on Saturday, July 29 at 7:30 p.m. CT. There will be a free concert featuring rapper Tech N9ne and country artist Blane Howard. Voice of the Chiefs, Mitch Holthus, will be the MC along with plenty more Chiefs-related festivities.

Opportunities Galore for Wide Receiver Room
Just before the start of the season last year, I wrote an open letter to the AFC with a warning: you better strike now while the Chiefs are making a big transition from moving on from a star like Tyreek Hill and investing in a new young core. We all know what happened after that. It has now been 2,006 days since someone other than the Chiefs hosted an A…
Summer Scouting Offensive Tackles in the 2024 NFL Draft Class
This week on the Summer Scouting Series we turn our eyes back to the offensive side of the ball and the offensive tackle position. They brought in Jawaan Taylor to be a mainstay at one of the OT spots, drafted Wanye Morris in the third round…

Quotable:
“It’s great to be out here before the veterans get back into the swing of things. When they get back, you already know, it’s go-time. It’s already go-time, but it’s definitely going to be up when the veterans get here. So, it’s great to get here early, get on the field, and get in the swing of things.” - Chiefs rookie S Chamarri Conner on the three-day rookie head start at training camp
“It’s the details. Detailing my notes more. Just finding little things to get better at. And for me, I want to run for 1,000 yards, so that’s the goal obviously, but it starts here today in practice, day by day.” - Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco on what he wants to improve and his goals for 2023
“Everything. The coaching staff, Andy Reid down to (Defensive Coordinator) Spags (Steve Spagnuolo), to (Defensive Backs) Coach (Dave) Merritt and everything. Just overall a great defensive system, great coaching staff, I love the players here. They won the Super Bowl last year, always a good winning program, so I want to come be a part of something like that.” - Chiefs S Mike Edwards on what made Kansas City a good fit
Important Dates Ahead:
July 21: Veterans report to training camp.
July 23: First public practice of Chiefs training camp.
July 24: The signing period ends for transition tag players and players on UFA tenders.
