The Chiefs (6-7) welcome the Los Angeles Chargers (9-4) for a Sunday afternoon matchup at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

And make no mistake about it – this AFC West showdown presents heavy implications for a Chiefs team barely hanging on for a chance at the postseason.

Depending on the playoff percentage model, the Chiefs have between a 10%-15% chance to secure a spot with four games remaining on the schedule.

“We’re in an unprecedented territory, someplace that we haven’t been since I’ve been here,” quarterback Patrick Mahomes said.

Mahomes and the Chiefs can help themselves by first defeating the Chargers, of course, then win out and hope for outside help.

While the situation appears bleak, the Chiefs are relying on a trait that propelled the organization’s appearance in five of the last six Super Bowls, resulting in three championships.
