The Chiefs on Monday didn’t waste time addressing a position of need at the start of the NFL’s open negotiations period.
The Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Jaylon Moore agreed to a two-year deal, a source familiar with the situation confirmed with KC Sports Network.
Financial details were not disclosed, but multiple reports indicate the deal is worth $30 million. The Athletic was first to report the news.
The 6-foot-4, 311-pound Moore entered the league out of Western Michigan as a fourth-round pick with the 49ers. He has appeared in 55 games with 12 starts, while serving as 49ers left tackle Trent Williams’ primary backup.
Moore, who turned 27 in January, projects to immediately fill the left tackle position on the Chiefs’ offensive line.
The agreed upon deal won’t be official until Wednesday at 3 p.m. CST, which marks the start of the NFL’s new calendar year.
