Chiefs to sign former Dolphins CB Kader Kohou: reports
Kohou sat out the 2025 season while recovering from a torn ACL
There’s a new veteran cornerback heading to Kansas City.
The Chiefs are signing signed former Miami Dolphins cornerback Kader Kohou, according to multiple Thursday afternoon reports. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Long-time NFL reporter Jordan Schultz first reported the news.
The 5-foot-10, 197-pound Kohou suffered a torn ACL last summer and didn’t play the 2025 regular season.
When healthy, though, Kohou showed in Miami he could contribute, appearing in 47 games with 38 starts in three seasons (2022-24). He totaled 180 tackles, a sack, two forced fumbles, three interceptions and 28 passes defensed in that span.
Kohou has versatility to play outside and the nickel spot, a role he held in Miami, and joins the Chiefs’ cornerback room in the wake of multiple departures during free agency.
Trent McDuffie was traded to the Los Angeles Rams, while Jaylen Watson signed with the Rams and Joshua Williams signed with the Tennessee Titans.
The 27-year-old Kohou entered the league out of Texas A&M University-Commerce as an undrafted free agent with the Dolphins.
Of note, Kohou becomes the fourth free agent represented by David Canter of Aura Sports Group to sign with the Chiefs, joining running back Kenneth Walker III, defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga and safety Alohi Gilman.

When healthy, he showed he can contribute. I guess with our salary cap troubles, we are at the point we have to try and make returning-from-ACL fit and work. Good thing we have Merritt.
