Chiefs' Xavier Worthy, Trey Smith not practicing Wednesday
Chiefs head into home stretch of 2025 NFL regular season
The Chiefs are down two offensive starters for the first practice of the week ahead of Sunday’s season finale against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Coach Andy Reid said Wednesday that wide receiver Xavier Worthy (illness) and right guard Trey Smith (ankle) will not practice.
Everyone else on the roster, however, will work in some capacity, Reid said.
Smith’s and Worthy’s availability for Sunday will depend on what they can do Thursday and Friday.
If Smith can’t play against the Raiders, the Chiefs are likely to once again turn to veteran guard Mike Caliendo.
Worthy’s potential absence in Week 18 would be par for the course for the Chiefs’ wide receiver corps, which has been decimated by injuries in recent weeks.
Rashee Rice (concussion), Tyquan Thornton (concussion) and Nikko Remigio (knee) all landed on injured reserve.
The team has Worthy, Hollywood Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster and rookie Jalen Royals on the active 53-player roster, while Jason Brownlee and Jimmy Holiday are on the practice squad.
