C.J. Hanson Film Review: A Diamond in the Rough?

Looking into the best traits from the Chiefs' 7th Round Draft Pick

Heading into the 2024 NFL Draft, most Kansas City Chiefs fans assumed that a pick or two would be spent on the offensive line. After dropping a 2nd round pick on offensive tackle Kingsley Suamataia and a 5th round pick on interior offensive lineman Hunter Nourzad, most thought the team was set until they reached the UDFA process. But that proved not to be the case, as the Chiefs selected Holy Cross interior offensive lineman C.J. Hanson late in the 7th round.

Hanson became the first player to be drafted to the NFL since 1989 for the Holy Cross Crusaders. A three year starter and two-time First-Team All-Patriot League at right guard, Hanson had draftable grades by many media outlets. Still, with the depth of this offensive line class and a lack of visibility at a small school, he wasn't on many media lists – until you turned on the tape.
