“Remember that time Brett Veach traded back from pick 50 and got a starting receiver and right tackle out of it?”

If things go as we hope, Chiefs fans will praise Veach's first trade back as one of the best moves in his tenure as general manager. He moved off pick 50 in exchange for the 54th and 158th selections in the 2022 draft and added receiver Skyy Moore with No. 54 and used Nos. 158 and 233 to trade up to 145 and add Kentucky’s Darian Kinnard to their offensive line room.

An argument can be made that the Chiefs should have looked to address the offensive line earlier than they did. There was one glaring issue last season on an otherwise outstanding group that was overhauled in 2021: With four positions soon to be secure for at least the next three seasons (once Orlando Brown Jr. agrees to an extension), right tackle is the most unsteady spot.

We’ll select a KCSN Daily subscriber each week this regular season to receive TWO tickets to the upcoming home Chiefs’ game — just as a thank you for the support of being a subscriber.
