Every year, there is another NFL draft. Every year, nearly 300 college football players get drafted into the NFL, and a whole bunch more sign undrafted free agent contracts with a team. Every year, I compare the current draft to the previous five drafts to see how they compare, where the groups of players at specific positions are, and how deep the class seems to be.

For previous drafts, I can simply use the actual draft to get this information. How many wide receivers were drafted in the top 10 in 2025? Two, Travis Hunter and Tetairoa McMillan. In the first round? Four, Emeka Egbuka and Matthew Golden added to the two above.

Information on prior drafts is simple. Getting this sort of information for a draft that hasn’t yet happened? Much more difficult. With this in mind, I used the Consensus Big Board from NFLMockDraftDatabase.com to pull their rankings for the players. The consensus big board collects big boards and mock drafts from draft experts across the industry, and then combines all of that information into a “consensus” board based on average picks and rankings.
