Drops.

Again and again, in one big moment after another, we’ve seen our pass catchers literally drop the ball. It started all the way back in week 1, when Kadarius Toney not only dropped a pass from Mahomes, but he managed to tip it up enough that the defender was able to intercept it and return it for a touchdown.

Drops.

It’s the problem that won’t go away. You can talk about the receivers not being in the right positions, or Mahomes not trusting them, or the lack of real talent in the pass catchers room outside of an aging tight end and a rookie showing flashes. Every time we seem to build up some momentum, we get another drop.

You can even talk about the offensive line penalties that have also plagued us this year. The thing is, our team under Andy Reid has always been heavily penalized. That’s nothing new. What’s new is that prior to this year, we were able to overcome them in ways that often felt effortless. This year? Nothing at all about our offense looks effortless. Except for drops.
