The energy is palpable for the return of Chiefs football in St. Joseph, MO. Every bit of news coming out is being consumed with a ravenous appetite. The biggest update was Josh Simmons insertion into the left tackle spot immediately for first practice.

It is possibly the most important development we could have this early. There is reason for optimism that offensive tackle could be solved in a meaningful way if he’s able to step in already.

During the summer, I like to do a way-too-early 53 man roster projection to see how I view the roster. This year presents some challenges, with some intriguing young players, a couple log-jammed positions, and injury history to consider. There’s a lot that could change, and in some cases there could be players not yet in camp on the roster.
