The grand spectacle has almost arrived. Today, we will find out the order in which the Chiefs will play the 17 opponents that we have known they will be player for over four months! Temper your excitement if you can. It’s schedule release day!

The league has worked hard to make this as much of an event as they can in the doldrums of the NFL calendar. It’s a dead period where much isn’t happening that is football related.

Release week does present an opportunity to re-focus on who the Chiefs will be lining up against in 2026. The attention hasn’t been paid much to the schedule leading up to this point, but in the same way the Chiefs’ roster is pretty well settled, it’s a good chance to be reminded of what other teams have done as well — and what kind of challenges they will present.

Here are the five games I’m most looking forward to watching in the 2026 season.

5. Matchup with the Champs

Chiefs at Seahawks

The Chiefs haven’t been on the road in Seattle since Mahomes’ first season as a starter. You may remember him slinging a sidearm touchdown pass to Charcandrick West in that game.

The Chiefs eventually lost that game. Which would mean Mahomes has never won there. An opportunity to add that pelt to the wall in 2026.

It will be a big test for this team to see how they stack up against a modern football team. Can the Chiefs’ offense rise to the challenge against the most dynamic defense we’ve possibly ever seen?
