Five things to look for in the Chiefs-Titans matchup
The Chiefs' playoff hopes may be dashed but that doesn't mean there is nothing to glean from their upcoming game.
For the first time since 2014, the Kansas City Chiefs are officially eliminated from the NFL Playoffs, and it happened earlier in the year than anyone could have expected. On top of that — as we all know by now — Patrick Mahomes has suffered an ACL and LCL injury that has put him on the road to recovery for 2026. These facts being present certainly put a dark cloud over the remaining three games of the Chiefs’ schedule, but there is still very important information to be gained from these games.
Typically, in situations like this, fans turn towards the young, up-and-coming players on their team who are eliminated from the playoffs. This puts us in an odd spot with the Chiefs because they don’t fit that mold. They were a team expected to compete for the Super Bowl and to be ready right now. Their falling short in that scenario does leave a sour taste in the mouth and can make getting excited for the upcoming games a little more challenging.
