Another day of perfect conditions out at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri. Thursday’s cloud cover and rain gave way to weather in the mid-70s on Friday. The crowd size at training camp was as big as it had been so far, which makes sense given the day of the week. The team is also set to host the “Red Rally” at Civic Center Park beginning at 2:00 p.m. CT. It will feature Chiefs Rumble, Chiefs Cheer, KC Wolf, and Mitch Holthus. There will also be performances from Blane Howard, Mizznekol and Tech N9ne.
There were quite a few standouts during Friday’s practice, with some head-turning plays from WR Skyy Moore, TE Jody Fortson, LB Willie Gay Jr., DE George Karlaftis and CB Trent McDuffie.

Quotable:
“He’s a tough player, He’s smaller as far as height, but he’s thicker as a receiver. I think you can see that he’s making a lot of tough contested catches over the middle. He’s thinking a lot because he’s a rookie getting thrown into the offense and we’re not holding back at all. You can tell, when he knows what he’s doing, he runs some great routes and has great releases. I think he can be a big part of our offense moving forward.” Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes on rookie WR Skyy Moore, transcription via Chiefs Wire.
How would the Chiefs’ OL fair if Orlando Brown Jr. holds out in 2022? Our answers and more on 21 Questions w/ Matt Lane and Tucker Franklin.
“Yeah, listen, I mean a lot of coaches have to teach guys how to roll out and call plays. We just do it. He just does it. He’s tremendous. No, listen, I know you guys look at Pro Football Focus and all those things, just take a peek at that and see how many times he hits his second receiver (laughter).” - Chiefs HC Andy Reid’s message to those who don’t consider Patrick Mahomes a Tier 1 quarterback.
