Kansas rallies for improbable win over TCU
Nick Springer and Kevin Flaherty react to Kansas basketball pulling off a remarkable comeback against TCU at Allen Fieldhouse.
Down nine with 1:15 left in the game, Kansas avoided falling 0-2 in Big 12 play after an insane rally in the final 75 seconds took them to overtime against TCU. Mounting a 15-point comeback with just over four minutes to go as well, the Jayhawks took care of the Horned Frogs 104-100 in overtime.
Freshman phenom Darryn Peterson, who played in 32 of the 45 minutes, knocked down 32 points, going 8-of-18 from the field and 13-for-15 from the free throw line. Peterson also grabbed eight rebounds.
Flory Bidunga played all but four minutes of regulation and overtime. He only missed one shot all evening, scoring 16, and led the team in rebounds with nine. KU also received nice offensive performances from Tre White, who scored 22, and Melvin Council Jr., who tallied 18, in addition to leading the team in assists with eight.
The guys discuss what went wrong before the comeback, how the script flipped, the obvious defensive struggles, the offensive outburst, what Peterson’s full return means for the team, and more.
