Key angles to watch in preseason week two against the Lions

Running back Carson Steele put himself squarely in the middle of a roster spot in preseason week one. Week two could work the same way for someone. Here is a preview of what to keep your eyes on.

Count me as someone who would not mind if Patrick Mahomes ever played another preseason snap, but it does allow the first team to learn without consequences, and the results are undeniable. The annual bit of head coach Andy Reid claiming the starters will get a quarter, only to actually get one drive has taken place, but in the second preseason game, they do traditionally play a quarter or more (even though claims they will get the entire first half).

On both sides of the ball, there are around 21 or 22 presumed locks, leaving three or four roster spots up for grabs. All that is to say, there are plenty of things to keep your eye on Saturday afternoon, but none are more pivotal than seeing how some of the starters are coming along. Here are my key things to watch for Saturday.
