There is no doubt that Kansas State was given no easy hand when they saw the beginning slate to their Big 12 schedule. Starting off against No. 10 BYU and No. 1 in the country, Arizona, was never going to be an easy task.
After falling to the Cougars by 10 to kick off their conference schedule, they fell to the top-ranked team in the country 101-76. They allowed Braden Burries to rack up 28 points, nine rebounds, and four assists in the 29-point loss, with Motiejus Krivas adding another 25 points and 12 rebounds.
K-State had no answers in the lopsided matchup. They shot just 34 percent from the field, 22 percent from beyond the arch and were outdone on the boards 55-32. The ‘Cats never held a lead.
Junior transfer guard P.J. Haggerty led the team in both scoring and assists, with 19 and seven, respectively.
Now 0-2 in conference and 9-6 overall, Kansas State will travel to Arizona State, who has the same conference and regular-season record as they do.
