The offseason of Andy Heck continues!

With the changes in offensive tackle and the recent development of the Chiefs interior offensive line, I decided to spend this offseason digging into some of Andy Heck’s preferences when it comes to offensive line techniques. We’ve already covered how he prefers to build his pocket and one of his favorite techniques in the creep set.

Today, we’ll continue reviewing some of the more commonplace pass sets that Heck implements along the offensive line. As was the case with the creep set, these examples will all center around one position — this time, the offensive tackle position — but any of these can be utilized by any player along the offensive line if called for by the blocking scheme. Without further ado, let’s dig into jump sets, angle sets, and vertical sets.
