This offseason, we here at KC Sports Network have spent our fair share of time breaking down the Chiefs offensive line. With two new offensive tackle starters — the first time in modern history a Super Bowl winner has done such a thing — there has been a lot of natural focus on the protection of Patrick Mahomes. That led to this offseason series, Raising Heck, that took a look into the Chiefs offensive line coach Andy Heck.
We dove into relative positioning of the pocket, creep sets, common sets, striking, and spent last week looking at how to defend bull rushes and hump moves. This week, we’ll be taking a look at how to defend another power move — and the defense of the defense — as we close out this offseason series.
