Sizing Up the 2024-2025 AFC Playoff Field
A look at who's in, and who are the biggest threats to the Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs won 15 of their first 16 games and yet it took until recently for them to be considered the favorite out of the AFC side of the playoffs. Part of that has to do with their only real loss being against the Bills, and the style points both Buffalo and Baltimore have racked up in some of their wins.
The Chiefs are, obviously, chasing immortality as the first three-peat in NFL history. They’ve had to play 9 games against playoff teams (8 against AFC foes) to fight for the real prize of the regular season: the lone bye week in the conference.
They’ll have the luxury of sitting back and watch teams beat each other up in the Wild Card round before playing the lowest seeded winner of the weekend.
