The Chiefs may have started slow on Monday night, but they ended up with a 28-7 win over the Washington Commanders. Two interceptions to end their first two (very promising) drives of the game should have left them in a hole, but the Chiefs’ defense got an interception of their own to go along with two fourth down stops to keep the Commanders at zero points in their first three drives.

It was a very weird first half, the sort of half we Chiefs fans are well trained to fear. Stupid mistakes, penalties, and turnovers keeping a mid or bad team in the game. Sloppy football that makes a gimme game a much closer game than it should be, and can end in a very frustrating loss. The Jaguars game from earlier this season is an example of this.

However, I am very pleased to inform you that it did not happen this week. Oh, the first half was rough, for sure. After the break, the Chiefs came out and scored touchdowns on three consecutive drives to make it 28-7, while blanking the Commanders. The longest drive the Commanders had in the second half was 25 yards. The Chiefs recovered from an unfortunate first half with an explosion on both offense and defense, and it showed.
