The NFL season is finally here!! We played a real, live, meaningful game on Thursday night, against a real NFL team! And we won! We hung on by a toenail (literally), but in the end, the good guys go celebrate a victory, and the Ravens go back home with a loss. I cannot imagine a better start for the Chiefs. The Ravens are widely considered the second best team in the AFC, and now the Chiefs have a win and tiebreaker over them.

I am starting a new series this week, Spreadsheet Warrior. I am going to do a review of the most recent game from an analytics point of view, and present how the stats saw the game. This can help to identify strong points in favor of our Chiefs, as well as how luck or other factors played a role in the outcomes of each game. I won’t be doing this for every game, but you’ll see several of these this year.
