Sometime in mid-February, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Lavon Mahomes will be named the MVP of the National Football League.
That kind of statement is going to come off like an extreme homer take, but I don’t think it’s earth shattering to be confident in the player with the third best odds according to DraftKings (hey fellow Kansans, use promo code “KCSN” when you sign up with them) to take home the award.
One of my favorite ways to explain Mahomes Mania since he took over as the starting quarterback for a team (and fanbase) starved to find a homegrown passer is that he’s normalized greatness. He came into the league fast and furious upon becoming the starter, and took the league by storm.
