Andy Reid and the Chiefs are one of the teams that fall heavily into this category of using the pre-season for a lot more than simply winning the game. There stress tests being put on players and units, new players being given opportunities to shine, or specific areas of the game that are being worked on. New Tackles and Could Add Flexibility to the Offense
Over the past few seasons the Chiefs’ offense has been partially limited in terms of scheme and design due to their OT play. The play wasn’t always consistent but even more prevalent has been the lack of trust for the OTs to live on an island as blockers on passing downs. The Chiefs brought in two new OTs this season to not only improve the play of the position but also help the design of the offense.
