At one point in the Kansas City Chiefs’ franchise history, Top 30 visits were not an indicator of much in the draft. Players would flow through Arrowhead Stadium before seeing their names called by other franchises in the upcoming draft. For longtime fans like myself, the Top 30 visits scheduled by the team had little rhyme, reason, or bearing on who or what the Chiefs were interested in when the draft kicked off. Even in the early years of the Veach era, we saw some correlation between the Top 30 visits and the draft, but it didn’t come into focus until his recent — and best — draft classes.

Today, we’re going to take a look at the timing of some of these Top 30 visits in relation to this year’s visits, look into the players they selected/added to the roster from those visits, and see if we can make some sense out of the 2024 visits already on the books ahead of the NFL Draft in two weeks.
