The Chiefs in recent years were typically the playoff-bound team that the rest of the AFC chased once December rolled around in the regular season.

That was then, this is now.

This year’s version of the Chiefs sits on a 6-6 record and finds themselves in unfamiliar territory as the hunters.

While the Chiefs are dealing with a precarious situation, there aren’t any panic buttons being pressed at One Arrowhead Drive.

“I’d hope people are – and media included – I get it, but we’re still in the mix here, which is a great thing,” coach Andy Reid said.

Center Creed Humphrey echoed Reid’s sentiments.

“The ship’s not sinking or anything,” Humphrey said. “We’re still right where we need to be; just making sure we’re coming in and improving each week.”
