The Kansas City Chiefs are hosting the Miami Dolphins in the 2023 NFL playoffs on Saturday, January 13th. Patrick Mahomes has made the playoffs in all six years he has started. This year is the worst seeding he’s ever had, with the #3 seed.

I just want to take a moment and reflect on that, and on how good the Chiefs have been since Clark Hunt hired Andy Reid. This season is Andy Reid’s 11th season with the Chiefs. He started in 2013. We’ve made the playoffs in 10 out of 11 seasons he’s been the head coach. We have to go back to 1990 to get to the 10th playoff appearance pre-Reid.

This has been an incredible run. And the best part is that it’s not over. We still have Andy Reid. And since Patrick Mahomes became our starting quarterback, that success has skyrocketed. Three Super Bowl appearances. Two Super Bowl victories. Eight straight AFC West titles (2 under Alex Smith).
