The first big domino for the 2025 Chiefs offseason fell when Trey Smith had the franchise tag placed on him. It was a big step in the Chiefs’ pursuit of building a championship level roster around Patrick Mahomes, and ensuring that they have capable bodies up front protecting him.
Smith is the first piece of news surrounding an offseason that should bring a lot of it. Whether it’s players confirmed to be exiting or returning, new players signed or drafted, this could be the most unique offseason since the Chiefs traded Tyreek Hill in 2022.
