KC Soccer coverage at KCSN
Daniel Kooser and Chris Wright break down the latest updates for the Kansas City Current, including Izzy Rodriguez signing a contract extension and players who are on national team duty. Then the guys are joined by goalkeeper Laurel Ivory, talking about her journey in soccer, arriving in Kansas City, and fan support.
With the NWSL taking a month-long break to give way to national stage competition, the Current used its time wisely, quickly locking up Rodriguez through the 2028 season. The new USA Women’s national player has become a staple in Kansas City’s defense.
Backup goalkeeper, Laurel Ivory, spent the previous three seasons with the Seattle Reign, making nine appearances in the process. This past offseason, she signed with the Kansas City Current for the 2025 season with a mutual option for 2026.
Jimmy Mack and Daniel Kooser react to a double match week for Sporting Kansas City against Charlotte and Real Salt Lake. The guys break down each match, discuss officiating, John Pulskamp's play, the return of Johnny Russell and William Agada to Children's Mercy Park.
Sporting (5-5-10) gained four points over the last week, first defeating Charlotte FC (8-1-11) 2-1 and then tying Real Salt Lake (5-4-10) 1-1. Kansas City is up to 20 points in the standings now, sitting 6 out of a playoff spot. Next, SKC will take on the Colorado Rapids (7-5-8) on the Fourth of July.
