KC Soccer coverage at KCSN
Daniel Kooser and Chris Wright discuss the NWSL championship final, the latest updates surrounding the Kansas City Current, including players leaving, and Vlatko Andonovski no longer being the head coach.
In a shocking announcement, following the Current’s historical season, Andonovski announced that he is taking a front-office role with the club. Other changes coming to Kansas City include long-time defender Hailie Mace, who is set to leave the club following her contract expiring in December of 2025. Mace has made 95 appearances with the team since 2021 and earned second-team NWSL Best XI honors in 2022.
Jimmy Mack and Daniel Kooser discuss the latest updates for Sporting Kansas City, the MLS playoffs, and MLS voting to adopt a more European model for the season schedule, and its overall impacts.
Beginning in 2027, the MLS will model itself on the rest of the soccer world to ease international player transfers and reduce conflicts with international tournaments. There will be a shortened transition season from February 2027 to May 2027, followed by the inaugural season of the new format from July 2027 to May 2028.
KCSN covers both Sporting KC and the KC Current with weekly podcasts throughout the year.
