The Royals sent lefty reliever Angel Zerpa to the Brewers in exchange for outfielder Isaac Collins and right-handed reliever Nick Mears. The 28-year-old Collins also spent some time in the infield in 2025, when he finished fourth in the NL’s Rookie of the Year voting after slashing .263/.368/.411 with nine home runs and 54 RBIs. Meanwhile, Mears posted a 3.49 ERA across 56 2/3 innings last season, to go along with just 13 walks and 46 strikeouts.
